My friends, are you aware of the fact that as I write this article, there are not just millions, but billions of people all around the world who are terribly deceived? This great deception arrives in many different forms, and from so many different sources. Some of it is born within the very halls of national governments. Much of it originates within the great publishing houses of the world. Likewise, it comes from the entertainment industry, military institutions, the pharmaceutical industry, secretive and extremely powerful banking families, tobacco conglomerates, the agricultural sector, the oil and gas industry, public education systems, the food industry, and from so many other sources.

The fact of the matter is that there is hardly any sector of modern society where lies and deception are not being spewed forth on a regular daily basis, manipulating and controlling us, and seeking to influence the decisions that we make in our daily lives. Movies, TV shows and commercials, magazines, newspapers, books, radio shows, YouTube and a number of other video platforms, social networks, podcasts, and millions of other websites. And now the advent of AI -- that is to say, Artificial Intelligence -- has made the situation a whole lot worse, and the deception even more convincing. They all play a big role in this wicked game of psychological manipulation which occurs on a very grand scale. Furthermore, whether you realize it or not, you have been a victim of it. If you don't believe this, it just goes to prove exactly how successful they have been at their devilish game. Think about it!

Sadly, organized religion, be it Christian-based or another belief system, has not escaped this terrible blight. Being as I am a Christian writer, this article will focus on our own faith. There should be no doubt that the modern church is likewise guilty of propagating deception. While some of my readers will probably be quick to point their finger at the Roman Catholic Church with its many false doctrines and practices, tragically, it alone is not to blame. Deception is in fact rampant throughout our Christian faith. Please note that I am referring primarily to doctrinal deception.

More to the point, it really saddens me to see how many of my Christian brethren have been deceived by misguided Bible teachers who themselves have been blinded by the erroneous theological perspective known as Futurism. I have written about this subject so much over the years, and continue to write about it occasionally. Yet every time that I view my social network news feeds, I still come across so many of my Christian brethren who continue to share the deceptions of Futurism, or else who comment with an "Amen!" as a personal nod of agreement to someone else's post concerning this same doctrine. Whether these dear brethren realize it or not, all they are really doing is supporting, enforcing and in fact validating each other's deception. It basically amounts to religious "group think". It is mutual deception.

In case you have not read any of my articles regarding this subject -- such as "Fight Against Futurism!", "Daniel 8 and the Problem With Futurism", "It Is Time to Wake Up!" and "The Day I Am Waiting For" -- and thus may not be all that familiar with this very deceptive doctrine, Futurism is a misguided school of thought which appropriates what I am personally convinced are ancient, already-fulfilled Bible prophecies, and applies them to our current time as if said prophecies have not yet been fulfilled. This is accomplished by either intentionally, or ignorantly, taking certain key Bible verses out of their proper context. That is to say, Futurist doctrine distorts the true meaning of the verses.

Trust me; I know what I am talking about, because as I point out in articles such as "Jesus Christ's Return: Have We Been Deceived?", I was likewise a diehard Futurist for about forty years of my life until the Lord opened my eyes to Scriptural truth over a dozen years ago.

Exactly how big is this problem? Sad to say, the tenets of Futurism are now very widespread, and have been embraced by literally millions of Christian Believers around the world. The doctrine is heard and taught everywhere, both in the established church system, and online as well. If you doubt that this is so, simply visit any of the social networks, or any of the many thousands of independent Christian websites, and you will encounter Futurist doctrine sooner or later. It is really unavoidable. It has saturated every corner of the world wide web.

Regarding the origin of Futurism, being as I discuss it in other BBB articles, I will keep my words to a minimum here. Suffice it to say that this deceptive belief system began making inroads into our Christian faith -- both in Great Britain and in the United States -- about two hundred years ago through individuals such as John Nelson Darby, Margaret MacDonald and William Miller and his Millerites, all of whom believed in the soon return of Jesus Christ, and the rapture of the Saints. Ever since that time, one foolish individual after another -- including some popular and famous preachers -- has made misguided predictions -- and even set specific dates -- regarding the so-called rapture of the Saints, the beginning of a period of great trouble referred to as the Great Tribulation, the return of Jesus Christ, and related prophetic events.

The great tragedy is that as I point out in some of my other Bill's Bible Basics articles -- which you will find listed at the end of this same article -- over the past two hundred years, and to this very day, every single one of these false Second Coming predictions has been dead wrong. In fact, the most recent failed predictions were the September 2025 Feast of Trumpets prophecies, dreams and visions which some very misguided Christians claimed to have had. My dear friends, you need to STOP and ask yourselves why this is. Why have all of their predictions and calculated dates failed every single time? One would think that by this time, after such a large number of failed predictions, people would begin to wake up. Yet every year during the Feast of Trumpets, there are more of these same false predictions. Many Christians get excited with anticipation, and then nothing happens.

Sadly, beginning as early as the 1960s and the 1970s, the doctrines of Futurism began to grow even stronger within the modern Christian Church due to a number of well-meaning but very misguided popular preachers who promoted these wayward beliefs amongst America's youth. By the late 1990s and the early 2,000s, the erroneous tenets of Futurism had overtaken other theological perspectives, so that many Christians were no longer even aware of the fact that there exist a number of other theological perspectives -- or doctrinal positions -- and that not all Christians agree with or embrace the doctrines of Futurism.

As some of my older readers will be aware, over the years, many books and movies -- such as "The Omen" movie franchise, the "Left Behind" book series and movie franchise, etc. -- entrenched these false teachings within the minds of naive, gullible Christians who did not have a strong foundation in God's Word. They were, and have continued to be, blind sheep who have been led astray from the truth of God's Word. With the arrival of the Internet -- and later still with the rise of the very influential social networks -- the deceptions of Futurism continued to spread everywhere, so that as I noted earlier, today, this false belief system has gained a very powerful hold over literally millions of modern Christians all around the world.

Equally tragic is the fact that the doctrines of Futurism have become so pervasive, and so powerful, that if one dares to speak against or even question the tenets of Futurism, he or she is immediately shot down and branded a false teacher, and accused of promoting doctrines of devils. In other words, those people who have actually become deceived by Futurism, are accusing those brethren who are trying to tell them the Scriptural truth, of being the deceivers. And so here we are today. That is the tragedy, my friends; when you try to tell a brother or a sister the truth, and they willingly choose to continue embracing the deception instead. That is exactly how powerful the Futurist deception is.

As I mentioned earlier, in my 7-part series entitled "Jesus Christ's Return: Have We Been Deceived?", I amply explain how I personally was totally on the Futurism bandwagon for about forty years of my adult Christian life. I totally believed in it. Not only did I fully embrace it, but I fervently preached it to other people as well. That is, until in His mercy, the Lord really began opening my eyes to Scriptural truth -- as opposed to the false doctrines of men -- in 2011-2012. Well, actually, even before that time, I had already begun to see the holes in Futurist theology. However, it wasn't until that year that I really began my re-examination of the Scriptures in order to determine exactly where I had been led astray. It was eventually in 2016 that I authored the aforementioned 7-part series.

From that time until now, I have continued to share what I am now personally and fully convinced is really the proper interpretation of these ancient Bible prophecies, both via my Bill's Bible Basics articles, as well as by way of my graphics, poetry, songs and online discussions on a number of the social networks. Sadly, it has not by any means been easy. I continue to encounter considerable resistance from my misguided brethren who refuse to see the truth. I have lost friends over it, and I have likewise let go of certain friends who insistently and persistently continue to spread the lies of Futurism after I have tried my best to set them straight.

Yet despite the rejection which I know this current article will undoubtedly bring from some of you, here I am yet again reaching out to my Christian brethren, in the hope that at least a few of you will wake up and come out from under the deception of Futurism. My friends, you need to STOP spreading all of that misguided, unscriptural information. While I know that my saying this will offend some of you, you need to know and understand that not only are you deceived yourselves, but you are deceiving others as well, exactly as the Apostle Paul wrote almost two thousand years ago. To be more specific, it is time that you understand the following important points:

1. Barack Obama is not the Beast or the Antichrist.

2. Donald J. Trump is not the Beast or the Antichrist.

3. Elon Musk is not the Beast or the Antichrist.

4. Jared Kushner is not the Beast or the Antichrist.

5. The Pope is not the False Prophet. Some misguided Christians insisted that it was Pope Francis, yet he is now dead.

6. Neither Obamacare or the COVID vaccines are the Mark of the Beast.

7. America is not Babylon the Great. It was a symbolic description for First Century Jerusalem and the temple complex which was the center of Jewish life.

8. The Roman Catholic Church is not Babylon the Great. It was a symbolic description for First Century Jerusalem and the temple complex which was the center of Jewish life.

9. The Great Tribulation has not already begun and is not about to begin. It is an ancient, First Century event which occurred during the seven-year First Jewish-Roman War.

10. The Abomination of Desolation pertains to the distant past and has nothing to do with our current times.

11. All 70 weeks of the Prophet Daniel's "Seventy Weeks" prophecy -- not just 69 of them -- were fulfilled long ago and concluded during the latter half of the First Century.

12. The rapture of the Saints is not imminent. Similar to the Great Tribulation, it was a First Century event which was fully anticipated by the Apostles and Disciples of Jesus Christ.

13. Jesus Christ is not returning soon, because He already kept His promise to His followers during the First Century.

My dear friends, by sharing all of the previous misguided doctrines online, or in any other way, I am convinced that you are in fact unknowingly setting up a lot of Christians for great disappointment when those anticipated events do not materialize, exactly as has occurred for the past two hundred years. Do you honestly want to be guilty of doing that? Look; I fully understand that you are very sincere and very convinced of your current beliefs. As I explained earlier, I was too when I embraced Futurist theology quite a few years ago. However, I was dead wrong. I was deceived, just as you are still deceived today, even though you do not realize it yet.

Now, if you have an open mind and heart, and want to better understand why I personally and firmly embrace all of the aforementioned doctrinal positions, and what has convinced me to believe as I now do after being a Futurist for so many years of my life, then I personally invite you to carefully read, and to prayerfully and seriously study the hundreds of articles and series which are currently found on this Bill's Bible Basics website. I encourage you to begin with the ones which are listed below. They will clearly answer so many of your questions, fully backed by both the Scriptures and the historical record.

My friends, I understand that it is a lot of reading which will require a considerable amount of time on your part to study them all. Yet consider that it's taken me decades to write it all. By comparison, is investing a few weeks or months of your time really such a great sacrifice? But if you do so with an open mind and heart, and with an actual willingness to learn -- as opposed to just scanning through my work simply to determine what you don't agree with -- I am sure that you will be rewarded with, and will find, the Scriptural truth in them regarding ancient Bible prophecy. The choice is yours.

With these thoughts, I will bring this article to a close. It is my hope that you've found it informative and enlightening, and I pray that it has been a blessing in your life as well. If you have an account with Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or with any other social network, I would really appreciate if you'd take the time to click or tap on the corresponding link that is found on this page.
