Synopsis:



In this modern world of vain, puffed up, egotistical and oft times self-confident men, regardless of whether they happen to be right or wrong, people will often say "This is a fact", or perhaps they will say "These are the facts." It does not matter the subject of discussion, there will always be people who make this claim regarding some particular point, belief, theory, conjecture, doctrine, hypothesis or perspective. Not only that, but there are also certain things which have been taught for decades -- and in some cases, even for centuries -- which some people will insist are facts, which in reality are NOT facts whatsoever. We know this latter group of people today as historical revisionists. As some of you will recall, George Orwells's novel "1984" is a good example of this.

However, even though such statements aren't truly real facts, because they have been repeated for so long, and so often, it seems that society as a whole eventually comes to accept them as being real facts. In short, constant repetition will lead to eventual acceptance of the advanced narrative, regardless of the level of its truthfulness. The end result is of course mass deception on an unprecedented scale. Sadly, many people fail to recognize it. Thus we witness the power of government propaganda and endless psychological manipulation by the mass media machine and other controlling entities.

Allow me to give you a clear example regarding a particularly controversial topic which will undoubtedly and quickly alert and call to battle both defenders and detractors in both of the opposing camps: evolution. Oh boy! Recently, I happen to be scrolling through my Facebook news feed when I came across a certain science-related post. I believe the meme had to do with astronomy, which, as a Bible-believing Christian, is a field which I absolutely love! One of my favorite Psalms -- among many -- is Psalm 19, which begins with the following well-known Bible verse:

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."


In fact, if you visit the BBB Bible website, you will discover that over the years, I have authored quite a few astronomy-related articles, which I will list for you at the end of this same article. In fact, I will also include some of my alien and UFO articles as well. But returning to our main topic of discussion, beneath the Facebook meme in question, in the comment section, someone had posted a short comment which declared "Evolution is a scientific fact."

As you can imagine, with science-oriented Facebook comments such as the one I just described for you, there are quite often literally hundreds of comments in the comments thread, because regardless of which side of the fence a person may be on, people are simply compelled to respond in order to share their personal perspective. And in case you weren't aware of it already, sometimes the ongoing conversations can get quite wild and hot -- and oft times rather offensive too -- as each of the parties involved digs in their heels, and passionately defends their particular point of view!

However, as for myself, as I explain in my two-part article entitled "Should Christians Engage in Doctrinal Debates?", I learned many years ago that it is simply not wise to engage in such debates -- whether it is of a scientific, religious or political nature -- because more often than not, they are a waste of one's time, and a complete exercise in futility.

The truth of the matter is that most people -- particularly older people -- are very entrenched in their personal views and unchangeable. They do not engage in the discussion to listen, and perhaps to even learn from other conversation participants. Rather, they are there with a single goal in mind: to push their views across on others. Sadly, some of them can become quite aggressive and vicious, and they will run you into the ground if you refuse to agree with their particular point of view.

It is for that reason that while I too will sometimes post opposing views in social network comment threads, if other participants become resistant and want to argue, more often than not, I will simply bow out of the conversation. In the case of people who resort to petty name-calling and vicious personal attacks, not only will I completely bow out of the conversation, but I will likewise delete any comments which I have made. I just don't have time for that nonsense. I am too busy doing the Lord's Work.

Yet at the same time, there are occasions when I am feeling a bit mischievous. While some people may have the impression that I am strictly a very serious individual, as some of my longtime friends and readers will know, I do have a healthy sense of humor. Not only can I laugh at myself, but I can also laugh at jokes -- as long as they are decent -- and I can even tell a few jokes of my own as well. Some people may find my jokes funny, while others may not. Oh well. I guess I am still a work in progress!

In fact, such was the case when I read the Facebook comment which said "Evolution is a scientific fact." I was feeling a bit mischievous, and so I decided to add my two cents worth to the conversation. But while in the process of doing that, on the spur of the moment, I recognized that I had invented something interesting regarding the word "fact", particularly with regard to how the word is sometimes erroneously used -- or purposely and intentionally used -- to convey something that is clearly and utterly false. Following is what I wrote:

FACT?

False assertion contradicting truth

Oh . . . THAT kind of fact! Okay. Gotcha!

As you can probably tell, I was obviously being a bit funny and joking, while at the same time conveying a real truth. While I do not do it all that often, I have discovered that encompassing some truths in a layer of humor -- particularly hard truths which some people find difficult to accept -- makes those truths more palatable for people who may reject them otherwise. By softening the edges a bit, it can reduce, or even neutralize entirely, any combativeness, defiance or hostility. It does not always work, but sometimes it does.

So as I pointed out in my Facebook comment, despite certain people's claims, some facts are really not facts at all. In actuality, they can be outright lies disguised as truth. In other words, they are not truly facts, but rather a "false assertion contradicting truth", or F.A.C.T. In my opinion, such is clearly the case with regard to the ungodly theory of evolution. It is a false assertion which contradicts the truth of God's holy Word.

So exactly what does the Bible say regarding this issue? It clearly states that we humans were created in God's very own image and likeness from the very start, which we can easily determine from the following group of Bible verses:

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."


"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul . . . And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him . . . And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."


Now, of course, for those among us who are Bible-believing Christians, and who are sufficiently knowledgeable of God's Word, the wicked practice of replacing Scriptural truth with the contradictory, satanic, deceptive lies of the world does not come as a surprise at all. After all, we know that this has been Satan's modus operandi since the very beginning of creation. This truth becomes evident by verses such as the following:

"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer FROM THE BEGINNING, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it."


"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."


"Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"


"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."


So the warning is clear. We all need to make sure that we are not being sold a package of lies which is trying to be passed off as the truth. We need to make certain that the facts we are being told are truly the facts, and not just F.A.C.T.s, or "False Assertions(s) Contradicting Truth".

So the next question we need to address is exactly how we are supposed to do that. How do we differentiate between a real fact and a F.A.C.T.? If you have read any of my other BBB Bible articles in which I discuss this subject, or if you are a diligent student of God's Word yourself, then you will already know the answer to this question. Simply put, to know what is false, you must first diligently study what is true. In that way you can more easily identify what is false. In the context of this article, that of course means that you must diligently studying God's Word. That is to say, the Holy Bible. Following are a few verses which verify this point:

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."


"And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."


"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee."


In conclusion, my friends, which one is it? Which one do you have, and which one do you believe in? Is it truly the facts -- meaning God's facts as found in the Bible -- or is it the world's F.A.C.T.s and the Devil's F.A.C.T.s which blind and deceive? I hope it is the former, and not the latter.
