This article is actually an update and much expanded version of a commentary I first posted on Facebook in September of 2025. My dear friends, up until now, I have kept quiet and not said a single word to anyone regarding the tragic death of Charlie Kirk; not even to my closest friends. To be quite honest, I simply did not want to become involved in any online discussions concerning it, due to the fact that the subject is rather controversial, and I knew that there would be a lot of heated exchanges where some people would not control their tempers. Thus, I chose to avoid it all.
At any rate, like many of you, when I first became aware of Charlie Kirk's death, I was very shocked, and I immediately prayed for his wife and two small children. That was all that I personally felt led to do at the time. However, due to some of the outrageous and disgusting online comments I have been reading in recent weeks, I now feel compelled to say a few words for anyone who cares to read them. Let me begin by saying that anyone who is familiar with my Bill's Bible Basics ministry writings and beliefs knows that I do NOT support the politicizing or commercialization of our Christian faith in any degree whatsoever.
In fact, as a number of my Bill's Bible Basics articles bear out, I have long taught that we Christians are supposed to remain separate from the secular world as much as possible, except for the purpose of being a witness of our faith to others. For me personally, this has meant being apolitical. In other words, I am not politically involved in any degree whatsoever. I am not Republican, Democrat or Independent. Neither am I MAGA or a blind follower of President Donald J. Trump, as so many worldly Christians appear to be. In short, I live a life of seclusion in order to fulfill my writing mandate from the Lord. Following is a group of Bible verses regarding remaining separate from the world:
"If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."
John 15:19, KJV
"I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil."
John 17:14-15, KJV
"Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence."
John 18:36, KJV
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,"
2 Corinthians 6:17, KJV
"No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."
2 Timothy 2:4, KJV
"For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia."
2 Timothy 4:10, KJV
"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city."
Hebrews 11:13-16, KJV
"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."
James 4:4, KJV
Along a similar vein, as I already stated, I have likewise long preached against the commercialization of our Christian faith. In fact, as a matter of public record, ever since I began the online facet of the Bill's Bible Basics ministry more than thirty-two years ago in 1993, everything I have ever written, composed or created has been freely available to anyone who has online access, and it will always remain so. If you visit the Bill's Bible Basics website directly, you will find quite a number of articles and series where I amply discuss both of these topics. That includes articles such as the ones you see listed below. You will find links for all of them at the end of this same article:

Just as the Bible admonishes us to remain separate from the world as much as possible, it also advises us to refrain from seeking political power, or from striving to gain any material wealth. In fact, the Scriptures warn us that such things can easily become a snare in our lives, so that we actually are led astray by the things of the world. Many of my readers will no doubt be familiar with the Parable of the Sower where Jesus explains how different things in the world can affect the fruitfulness of the Word of God in a person's life. Following are some additional verses which touch on the very same subject of seeking things of the world:
"And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."
Job 1:21, KJV
"When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: And put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are deceitful meat. Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom. Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven. Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee. The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words."
Proverbs 23:1-8, KJV
"There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt. But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand. As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand."
Ecclesiastes 5:13-15, KJV
"As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand."
Ecclesiastes 5:15, KJV
"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."
1 John 2:15-16, KJV
"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also . . . No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon . . . But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Matthew 6:19-21, 24, 33, KJV
". . . Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
Matthew 19:23-24, KJV
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
Mark 8:36-37, KJV
"And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
Mark 10:17-25, KJV
"And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
Luke 12:16-34, KJV
"No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."
Luke 16:13, KJV
"Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed."
John 6:27, KJV
"Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire."
1 Corinthians 3:13-15, KJV
"And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away."
1 Corinthians 7:31, KJV
"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:18, KJV
"Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content."
Philippians 4:11, KJV
"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth."
Colossians 3:1-2, KJV
"But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:"
1 Timothy 6:6-14, KJV
"Let your conversation [meaning your lifestyle or way of life] be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
Hebrews 13:5, KJV
"Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain."
James 5:1-7, KJV
"And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it."
Luke 4:5-6, KJV
"In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
2 Corinthians 4:4, KJV
"Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices."
2 Corinthians 2:11, KJV
Sadly, despite the powerful truths which are revealed in the previous two sets of Bible verses, the MAGA movement, NAR -- New Apostolic Reformation -- and the Dominionists are guilty of all of these things. That is to say, they both politicize and commercialize our faith to a significant degree. It is as if they have chosen to completely ignore the previous verses. Thus, it should be plain to see that the Christianity which they practice is most certainly NOT the Christianity of the Bible. Anyone who knows them or who is associated with them, understands that they are all about attaining great political power and accumulating tremendous wealth.
Those people preach a false, worldly, compromised prosperity gospel. In addition to that, many of them are likewise strong Christian Zionists and very much pro-Israel. Israel can do no wrong in their eyes. Personally, I hold very different views, as you'll find outlined in my various BBB articles. In light of these various points, is it really any wonder that Donald Trump is so enamored with those people? They think and talk just as he does. They are the perfect religion for him. They in fact give a big nod to much of what he does. Can you see it, my friends?
As some of you will already know, what I also find tragic is the fact that Charlie Kirk was likewise very much tied up in all of those things. He was full-on MAGA and was instrumental in helping Donald J. Trump to win the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Similar to many other Bible-versed Christians, I likewise believe that Charlie Kirk was seriously deceived concerning these particular issues. He was in kind of a deep "romance" with Trump, NAR and the Dominionists. So, yes, I do find fault in his doctrines and theological views, and concur with some of the negative things which his critics have said about him.
However, at the same time, to add a degree of balance to my statement, let me also add that I have watched enough of his campus videos to know that Charlie was a very strong believer in Jesus Christ, and that he very boldly preached the Gospel of Salvation to the many young people he encountered at his on-campus public forums. Charlie was intelligent, articulate, knowledgeable, and a real soldier for Jesus who stood up for our Christian values, and who directly addressed many of the evils which plague modern American society such as abortion, alcoholism, drug abuse, the LGBTQ agenda and transgenderism, to name a few.
In short, Charlie was a real firebrand. I have no doubt about that whatsoever. Kirk's words, powerful witness and testimony forced his listeners to choose one side or the other. By his faithful witness, Charlie forced them to either chose God's side, according to His holy Word, or else to choose the side of the world and the Devil's lies and deceptions. There were no two ways about it. Charlie put people on the spot. So you see, that is the difference between some of the misguided Christians who now criticize and condemn Kirk, and myself. I choose to see the good that came out of Charlie's ministry, while all they want to see are the negative things, and the things that Charlie got wrong in a doctrinal sense.
So I believe that I possess a balanced perspective regarding Charlie Kirk. I recognize where he did very well, but I also recognize where he erred from the truth of the Scriptures, as I personally understand them. But taking everything together, and despite the secular brand of Christianity which he seemed to practice, I personally believe that at the moment of his death, Charlie Kirk received his "Well done!" from the Lord. I will add this: I think that during his short life, Charlie probably accomplished a lot more for the Lord than some of the misguided Christians who are now questioning his death and criticizing him.
Quite frankly, my friends, I find some of the online comments I have been reading over the past month rather sickening. I mean barely had the man died and already a sordid circus side show had begun with the online clowns. Some of you foolishly claim that it was a government-run PsyOp. You claim that the entire incident was a fake death, a setup and a false flag event. You point to seeming irregularities in the available video footage, and immediately start promoting your online personal, unfounded theories and misguided rumors. Some of you are like the gossipy women that the Apostle Paul warned Timothy about in 1 Timothy 4:7. Consider this Bible verse:
"But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness."
1Timothy 4:7, KJV
Others among you claim that Charlie Kirk was not even a real Christian, as if your own life is a shining example. Yes, as I already said, Charlie did embrace a few messed up beliefs and doctrines. However, do I need to remind you of what Jesus said regarding trying to take the mote out of your brother's eye while there is a beam in your own eye? Again, consider the following group of Bible verses and take them to heart:
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."
Matthew 7:3-5, KJV
Shame on you all! You behave like a bunch of blood-thirsty vultures! I pity Charlie's poor wife who is probably seeing some of the online crap that some of you insensitive people have been posting. My gosh! Let the poor woman grieve in peace! Instead of descending on Charlie Kirk like a bunch of ravenous wolves, I suggest that some of you examine your own lives first, and endeavor to serve the Lord in humility with fear and trembling. I am sure there is a lot of room for improvement. Please consider this Bible verse and live it:
"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling."
Philippians 2:12, KJV
Tell me something. Are some of you so desperate for attention, likes, comments and shares that you will post whatever draws people, even if there isn't an ounce of truth to what you are saying? What really motivates your negativity towards Charlie Kirk? Again, shame on you all! Equally tragic is the fact that some of you have become so lifted up in your pride, and think yourselves to be so spiritual, that you have deceived yourselves into believing that you see certain things in this tragic event which few others can see. You claim that we are deceived and asleep, and that we need to wake up, not even realizing your own haughtiness and deception. I am appalled by the number of people -- including many supposed Christians -- who are mocking and questioning Charlie's death. Again I say, shame on you all! Quite frankly, you are no better than the self-righteous Scribes and Pharisees of old! You say "We see!", but you see nothing at all. You're just like the blind leading the blind. Consider what Jesus said in the Gospels:
"Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth."
John 9:41, KJV
"Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch."
Matthew 15:14, KJV
Whether or not the full truth regarding Charlie's death will ever be revealed, I honestly do not know. I'm not a prophet, and I have never pretended to be a prophet. All I will say is the following: If Charlie's tragic assassination confirms and proves anything, it is that the spiritual warfare in the United States between the forces of light and the forces of darkness is very real. Considering Kirk's high social profile in the conservative world, his assassination seems to me to be very much like a declaration of war, and wickedness has killed its first general, that being Charlie Kirk. Consider the following Bible verse:
"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Ephesians 6:12, KJV
As some of you will already realize, for a long time now, a great cloud of darkness, rebellion, wickedness and confusion has covered this land, and it seems to be growing worse by the year. I have written about and warned about this issue for many years now. I would dare say that America's very life and soul is being weighed in the balances, and she is slowly being torn apart from within, without any help from her outside enemies. She is slowly rotting and decaying due to her own moral corruption, just like ancient Rome. Please consider this set of sobering Bible verses:
"Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds, and bruises, and putrifying sores: they have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment."
Isaiah 1:4-6, KJV
Is this moral decay God's judgment upon her? Will America continue to fade due to the weight of her own sins? My dear friends, please don't be too quick to believe the MAGA and NAR peace and prosperity preachers. After all, such false prophets were around in the days of the Prophet Jeremiah as well. We know exactly how that sad story ended in 587 BC. Jeremiah was proven to be right, while the false prophets were completely wrong, and death and destruction came upon Jerusalem and the temple compound. So please think about it before you just blindly accept all the peace and prosperity platitudes emanating from President Trump and his crowd of worldly Christians.
Sadly, despite my sharing all of the previous thoughts with my online friends on September 12th of this year, 2025, it seems that several weeks later, during the first weeks of October, 2025, some of them are still going at it with their wild conspiracy theories, criticisms and condemnation of Mr. Kirk. Indeed! Despite the fact that Charlie Kirk was killed over a month ago, believe it or not but some people -- and I mean some of my own fellow Christian brethren -- continue to kick the can down the road! My friends, there is something seriously wrong with some of you if you continue to do this! You are really sick! I continue to come across posts which foolishly claim that Charlie's assassination was supposedly a fake event, that there were oddities in the campus video, that there was something strange in Charlie's face and hands as he lay in his casket, and other similar nonsense.
My dear friends, why do some of you continue to obsess over this? Why don't you just give it a rest already and get back to sharing God's Word? Assuming, that is, that you were in fact preaching the Gospel before you went off on a tangent with all of this Charlie Kirk business. So look. Whether you accept it not, Charlie Kirk is in fact dead. So please get over it once and for all and move on already. There is just something really morbid and depraved about the way that some of you keep going on with your doubts and unfounded personal theories. Again, please stop your sick chatter at once, and wake up!
With these thoughts, I will bring this article to a close. It is my hope that you've found it informative and enlightening, and I pray that it has been a blessing in your life as well.
