BETRAYAL
by Bill Kochman
04-12-2018
Now as the Disciples dined,
That vile Devil entered in,
Judas then left the feast,
To commit his terrible sin.
For thirty pieces of silver,
The price that they paid,
He would lead to the place,
Where he knew Jesus stayed.
With both swords and staves,
He came with a group of men,
It was the hour of darkness,
We know what happened then.
So Judas Iscariot drew near,
He gave the Master a kiss,
Peter pulled out his sword,
"No, it must be like this!"
Filled with so much fear,
The Disciples then all fled,
But as for betrayer Judas,
Those demons filled his head.
It was the following morning,
When before Pilate Jesus came,
That Judas finally repented,
He no longer felt the same.
Thus he cast down the silver,
"Innocent blood I've betrayed",
But there was no getting out,
Of the evil bargain he had made.
So filled with so much remorse,
He went to a purchased field,
Where he quickly hung himself,
In this way the man was killed.
