I read a really juicy story,
While surfing the Internet today,
Man, I just got so darn excited,
Had to see what friends would say.

So I got on the social networks,
Began posting with all my might,
But it never once occurred to me,
That the story might not be right.

Well, I have certain web friends,
Who are much more in the know,
They told me the story was bogus,
And so now I am eating crow.

For those of you who do not have a strong command of the English language -- at least not American English -- in the U.S.A., the phrase "eating crow" refers to the act of a person being publicly humiliated and humbled when they are clearly proven wrong about something.

While I personally have never eaten a real crow, from what I have read, crow meat tastes rather nasty, just as a person feels rather bad, or nasty, when they are publicly humiliated, because they got something wrong.
