I will never forget the day,
I suddenly lost a body part,
I thought my life was over,
My whole world blew apart.

How could anyone love me?
My beauty was deeply marred,
Just as bad as the outside,
My very heart was so scarred.

But I also remember the day,
When Jesus spoke into my ear,
My child, I love you forever,
And I will always be so near.

This poem was inspired by a picture of a young woman -- a Christian, I believe -- which I came across on Facebook. She appeared to be missing one leg, and was using crutches. Yet despite what had befallen her -- I don't know the details -- nevertheless, she had a beautiful smile on her face.
