As that old Apostle Paul wrote,
Faithful stewards we must be,
If the Lord gives us our talents,
We should use them diligently.

Whether it's five talents or ten,
Yes, invest them in God's field,
Don't dare foolishly bury them,
Rather fruit they should yield.

We don't know what will result,
Thirty, or sixty, or maybe more,
Just use whatever God gives,
And He will be pleased I'm sure.

If we should decide to slack off,
Yes, just waste what God gave,
He'll be very disappointed in us,
That is no way for us to behave.

In the Bible we learn quite a lot,
About a particular fruitless tree,
Jesus chose to curse that thing,
And eventually it ceased to be.

The Lord taught about branches,
Which were thrown into the fire,
That is just what might happen,
So of serving God don't you tire.

Fulfill His highest will for your life,
Use your talents to the very max,
Bear fruit for His holy Kingdom,
And He'll never give you the axe.
