I haven't always been faithful,
Sometimes I have fallen down,
Life's temptations are so many,
To keep us from Heavenly Crown.

But our God is so understanding,
He knows we are but mere dust,
Seeing us only with eyes of love,
His judgments are fair and just.

Tho sometimes I disappoint Him,
And don't quite reach the goal,
I have this blessed assurance,
That He's the lover of my soul.
