Unless you're more righteous than Pharisees,
On one occasion the Lord Jesus Christ said,
Your situation appears really quite dire,
And into Heaven you surely will not be led.

But the true purpose of the Lord's words,
Was definitely not to extinguish all hope,
It was meant to help His listeners realize,
That they're saved by grabbing God's rope.

Of course we know that simply means Jesus,
Because to Eternal Life He is the only way,
Cleansed by His Blood we become righteous,
And on Heaven's streets we'll be someday.
