MORE THAN A BABE
by Bill Kochman
11-05-2024
For when ye ought to be teachers,
At one time the Apostle Paul said,
Although it's rather disappointing,
Like babies we treat you instead.
Dull of hearing Paul had told them,
They weren't ready for strong meat,
Their spiritual growth was stunted,
So Paul just gave them milk to eat.
Today there are likewise Christians,
Who don't seem to grow in the Lord,
They are spoon-fed by their pastor,
Never learning how to use a sword.
Now perhaps they believe in Jesus,
And that of course is good and well,
But being saved is just a beginning,
About Jesus others we need to tell.
If our own Salvation is all we're after,
Then sadly we have missed the goal,
God looks for diligent, hard workers,
Who want to witness and win a soul.
Just sitting in a pew year after year,
Is not developing our faith all that far,
But should we help win folks to Jesus,
Then we'll shine like the brightest star.
