To say the least, the subject of secession from the United States is a very tough, complex issue indeed. As many of my readers will already know -- at least my American readers -- talk of potential secession between red and blue states has been going on for many years now. Texas has certainly talked a lot about it in recent decades. However, to date, nothing has ever really come of it. However, it may surprise some of you to know that this may in fact be a good thing, as I will explain in this short article.

Considering the very obvious nationwide polarization that now exists within our country, as well as the clear-cut polarization in the U.S. Congress -- as is rather clearly evidenced by President Trump's Congressional address -- one can only wonder exactly how long our nation can continue in the current tenuous state before something finally cracks. And make no mistake. It is NOT just political division -- Democrat versus Republican -- that we are witnessing. It is also religious and spiritual division as well; meaning the Children of Light versus the children of darkness, and good versus evil. The Bible offers us some very strong, serious admonitions regarding this issue, such as the following:

"Can two walk together, except they be agreed?"
Amos 3:3, KJV

"Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils."
1 Corinthians 10:21, KJV

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
2 Corinthians 6:14-18, KJV

It seems that with each passing year, the clear-cut divide and sharp contrast between God's children and the Devil's children in our country becomes even more delineated and pronounced, and more and more it appears that we may indeed be irrevocably headed for a very major, cataclysmic schism in our country. Far right extremists in some states seem to believe that their state is large enough, and possesses a sufficient amount of natural resources, as well as a strong network of connections to other states, that it would still be able to survive well outside of the Union.

I mentioned the state of Texas at the beginning of this same article. Well, personally, regarding Texas, the irony that I see is that while a lot of Texans have believed now for many years that they can stand on their own, yet as I mention in articles such as the controversial article entitled "Should Muslims Hold Public Office in America?", right now Texas is experiencing a major infiltration by Muslims who are in fact establishing their own Muslim-centric communities -- such as the Epic City project -- where even Sharia law is apparently adhered to. And yet Texans think that they are able to stand on their own? Furthermore, Texas is a huge state; and yet if it is having these kinds of problems, what about even smaller states which consider seceding from the Union? Forget it@

However, my dear friends, I say BEWARE, because it is just such a schism -- meaning political secession -- that could very well mean slipping over the edge of the abyss and into total chaos. Jesus offered a very clear warning regarding the very precarious position in which we now find ourselves. Consider the following group of Bible verses and please take serious heed to them:

"And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:"
Matthew 12:25, KJV

"But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falleth."
Luke 11:17, KJV

So we really need to ask ourselves if secession at ANY level is really a wise option. Just think of some of the immediate repercussions which would result from such a major decision. For example, political, economic and social weakness and confusion would surely follow to some degree. And what about nationwide military cohesion? My friends, just stop for a moment and think about how both our internal and external enemies would greatly rejoice over such a development, not to mention try to immediately take advantage of the situation and our weakened condition.

Thus, it seems rather clear to me that secession in any form and at any level is simply not the solution that our nation really needs, regardless of how much such an idea may entice and appeal to some American citizens. In short, somehow, and in some way, we need to find the strength, fortitude, wisdom and unity, to figure out a way to resolve our differences so that we can continue to live together in peace. Because if we fail to do this, it may very well be the end of us all. If we don't resolve, we may very well dissolve! As the Apostle Paul wrote:

"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."
Romans 12:18, KJV
